Plan your trip to Iguazu Falls

If you plan to go to Brazil or Argentina, the Iguazu Falls should definitely be in your list.

If you live in Brazil please, tell me you’ve been there or that you have a trip booked already =)

Pictures are not going to give you the sensation of water splashing on your face, neither give you the sound of the rushing water or the opportunity to see a toucan flying above you.

Not convinced yet? What if I tell you that you can even go on a boat tour in the middle of the waterfalls?

Make all of it your own experience!

Iguazu Falls: Boat

I went there in November of 2013, there was a holiday in Brazil on a Friday so I took a bus from São Paulo on Thursday night and got back on Monday early in the morning. It took long 16 hours to get there but it was worth it, especially because it was way cheaper than a flight due to the holiday (around R$300 vs. R$700, although you can get flight tickets for the same price if you go on business days).

The bus company from São Paulo to Iguazu is called Pluma.

Don’t forget your travel insurance! By the way, we have a World Nomads Coupon Code of 7% OFF for you =)

If you decide to go by plane the airport name is Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do Iguaçú – IGU.

Iguazu Falls – Brazil

Iguazu Falls

On the first day I went to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls park, the view there in my opinion is nicer than on the other side.

Iguazu Falls – Argentina

On the second day I went to the Argentinian side, it was amazing especially because of the boat tour and the “Garganta do Diabo” (Devil’s Throat).

Be carefull with your cellphone, the water splash may cause problems, my iPhone antenna stopped working a day after my trip.

Hostel in Iguazu

I stayed at Hostel Manga Rosa, it is a little far from the Iguazu National Park ( I had to take two local buses) but the owners (Giselli and Joel) are soooooo nice that I would definitely stay there again!

One of the days I got back to the hostel so tired and hungry after spending a whole day at the park that I guess Giselli could see my pale face of someone who could not wait for some food delivery so she shared her food with me, soooo sweet =) !

They made me feel like home. Besides that I also met great people there!

Overall this is a really nice trip, although it is a place where going once in a lifetime is enough.

Cheers.
